Quad-Core ARM Processor
Starting from the core, Matrix products have been meticulously developed to perform to the highest standards. Over a year was spent developing a quad-core ARM processor into their products, as well as creating a high-grade audio system inspired by Linux. This streamer is the first from Matrix to support playback from local files and all popular music streamings services.

MA Player
The MA player is a high-tech audio playback system that lets you connect via a USB drive or NAS storage device to browse and play your digital music library and enjoy the best quality audio up to 768kHz PCM and 22.4MHz DSD.

MA Remote App
Equipped with a Matrix Audio Remote App which is compatible with both android and iOS, the Element X can be controlled with ease. Play back your favourite stored digital audio files over any LAN network, or browse and enjoy high-res streaming audio. It comes with a Virtual Remote control feature that lets you control the settings operations of the Element X through the app.

MQA Decoding and Recoding
Award-winning MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology delivers audio content that sounds exactly like the original master recordings. It is displayed on a hi-res display which indicates when the MQA is at work decoding, which can be played internally from a Roon player.

Pre- Amplifier and Headphone Amplifier
Element X incorporates a top grade analogue pre amplifier that is configurable with up to +10db of analogue gain. It also doubles up as a dual-mode headphone amplifier that consists of 4 separate amplifier units. It can drive one pair of balanced headphones in balanced mode or two pairs of single-end headphones in single-ended mode.

Hyper-Control
Hyper-Control feature ensures any weaknesses commonly found in traditional analogue based and digital based volume controls are eliminated. It uses a range of relays alongside the in-built DAC's internal digital volume component. It enabled Matrix Audio to combine the benefits of analogue volume control with the precision of digital.
